Day tradingOpening bell · breakout scanner
A classic day-trading method: let the first 15 minutes settle, then trade the stocks that break out of that early range. Every setup is tracked live, so you can see which reached their target and which were stopped out.
From 14:30 to 14:45 UK time, note each stock’s highest and lowest price. That box is the “opening range”.
If the price pushes above the box, that’s a buy signal (long). If it drops below, that’s a short. Stocks that gapped and opened on heavy volume rank highest.
Each trade has a target twice as far away as its stop. Whichever is hit first ends it; anything still open is closed at 21:00 UK time.

Auto-trader · opening bell on autopilot
Connects the breakout scanner to a broker account at Alpaca. Between 09:45 and 11:00 New York time (14:45–16:00 UK) it buys fresh breakouts as bracket orders, so the exit target and the stop sit on the broker’s servers and each trade closes itself. If Claude is connected it reads each stock’s latest headlines first and vetoes trades with obvious news risk. Everything still open is closed by 15:40 New York time; nothing is held overnight.
MonthlyMomentum · monthly top 5
The strongest-tested strategy so far. Once a month, hold the 5 stocks that have risen most over the past year, then swap them at the next month end. A market safety rule keeps you in cash when the whole market is falling. One decision a month: no day trading, no stop-losses.
At each month end, rank every stock by how much it rose over the last 12 months, leaving out the latest month (very short-term moves tend to reverse).
Put the same amount into each of the 5 strongest and hold them all month. If the S&P 500 ended the month below its 200-day average, hold cash instead.
At the next month end, re-rank. Sell the ones that dropped out of the top 5 and buy the newcomers. “At the swap” shows what to do with each.

Ranked on the published Wall Street analyst consensus (rating, number of analysts, mean price target) plus profitability, growth, trend and volatility. The exit value is the analysts’ mean 12-month target. ExperimentalCrypto & meme coins · monthly top 5
The same monthly routine as Momentum, for coins: hold the 5 coins that have risen most over the last 90 days, swap at each month end, and sit in cash while Bitcoin is below its 200-day average. It scans about 50 coins, including the big meme coins. Experimental: it beat holding the average coin in testing, but not by enough to rule out luck.
At each month end, rank every coin with real trading volume (at least $20M a day) by how much it rose over the last 90 days.
Put the same amount into each of the 5 strongest coins and hold them all month. If Bitcoin ended the month below its 200-day average, hold cash instead: when Bitcoin falls, almost everything else falls harder.
At the next month end, re-rank. Sell the ones that dropped out of the top 5 and buy the newcomers. “At the swap” shows what to do with each.

How it works
Scan
- About 100 large, liquid US-listed stocks.
- Every 15 minutes while the US market is open (14:30–21:00 UK time), plus once after the close.
- This page checks for a new scan every minute and highlights changed rows.
Opening bell
- Opening range = high and low of the first 15 minutes.
- Ranked at 09:45 New York time on the gap, opening volume against normal and the 20-day trend, never on how the trade turned out.
- If a bar touches both the stop and the target, it counts as stopped.
Long term
- Needs 8+ analysts and a profit over the last 12 months.
- Score weights analyst upside, rating, 6-month momentum, revenue growth, margin, the 200-day trend and volatility.
- Articles come from Yahoo Finance’s news feed for each stock.
Where to trade
Long ideas can be bought as shares through any FCA-authorised broker offering US stocks, such as Interactive Brokers, Trading 212, IG, Hargreaves Lansdown, Freetrade or eToro. Short ideas need a product that profits from falls, such as CFDs or spread bets. Ventryx has no link to any broker; check any firm on the FCA Register.
